Countertenor
Timothy P. Faatz is an ardent musician, performing professionally both locally and abroad. He has been involved in a variety of Twin Cities based ensembles, including the Hope Gospel Trio; Consortium Carissimi; Evangelion Chorale; East Central Minnesota Chorale and the Cathedral Choir at the Cathedral of Saint Paul.
Additionally, Faatz has performed as a guest soloist for oratorio, opera and concert performances in the United States and across Europe. Recent works he has performed consist of Vivaldi's
Gloria, Handel’s
Messiah, both Pergolesi’s & Vivaldi’s
Stabat Mater, Mozart’s
Coronation Mass, Durufle’s
Requiem, Bernstein’s
Chichester Psalms, Victoria’s
Officium Defuntorum and Schubert's Magnificat.
Faatz has had the esteemed privilege to perform under the batons of Dr. Dennis Port, Dr. Robert Berglund and Dr. Marilyn and James Biery.
Critics have praised his work stating, “He [Faatz] adds a luster and stability to the alto section that makes the entire choir sound richer,” and that “he is a singer to watch, for he has enormous potential.”

Faatz currently studies with Dr. RubyAnn Poulson. Others he has studied with include Sheri Anderson and Leah Frey-Rabine. Faatz was the vocal winner in the 2007 Performance Prize Competition at Bethel University. During the fall of 2007, he took third place in the Advanced Undergraduate Men’s Division of the state National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) competition. In August 2010, Faatz relocated to Kansas City to further his education. He plans to attend either the University of Missouri Kansas City Conservatory of Music or Kansas University School of Music in the fall of 2011.
